David Watts on Texas House District 7

Upshur County’s David Watts is considering a run for House District 7.

Watts for Texas

“In Texas House District 7, here in East Texas, Representative David Simpson has announced his plans to run for the Senate. This creates an opening in House District 7.

It’s vital that this seat is occupied by a bold, authentic, conservative… someone who will fight hard to aggressively restrain government and champion liberty.

Many in the district have asked me to enter this race. I’m very humbled that so many have asked, and I’m greatly encouraged by your support.

I can share that my wife and I are seriously evaluating this race. We’ll hope to reach a final conclusion soon and will share our decision on this page.

Stay tuned.

David.”

Jay Dean, former mayor of Longview, announced his bid for HD7 on June 18, 2015.

“Former Longview Mayor Jay Dean did today what he said this weekend he would do – made official his bid to be the Republican candidate for the District 7 seat in the Texas House of Representatives.

Dean, who concluded three terms as Longview’s mayor in May, said Sunday he planned to soon formally announce his run for the District 7 seat currently held by Rep. David Simpson, R-Longview. District 7 covers Gregg and Upshur Counties.”

  1. I am voting for David Watts because his thoughts on the property taxes is right on the money, I have a small brick house 2 bedrooms an a bath and half and the taxes are $1,500.00 a year and the last 6 years they have went up $100 a year. I protested and on that board is about 5 men and women whom are hateful and want cut you any kind of a break. I know people who have complained an got no break. Vote the board in is the way to go.
