Last night, KETK did a segment recognizing David Watts, an Upshur county resident, for creating a Traditional Marriage proclamation.
Unlike the LGBT proclamation that was submitted by Obama’s Organizing for Action – East Texas director and PFLAG leader, Vik Verma, last month, Watts attests that the proclamation is not a product of any organization.
Personally, I am grateful to David, his wife, Desiree, and Longview resident Cindy Schwartz for bringing this proclamation to Longview Mayor Andy Mack’s attention. According to KETK, Mack said he will likely sign the proclamation this week.
Watts has also shared his proclamation with several of us here in Upshur County. I stand behind Gilmer signing and celebrating traditional marriage in the month of August, along with my hometown of Longview.
Finally, I cannot thank my friend, David, enough. Thank you for taking a stand for what is right.
