It is appalling what Obama and the democrats are doing to our veterans.
The WWII Memorial, funded entirely by private contributions and does not require staff, is in an open area; as open as the swings at McWhorter Park in Longview.
The WWII Memorial is for the veterans. Without these brave men, the Gohmert haters would not be so free to emit their fairy tales about him (as though paid per letter).
On day 3 of the partial shutdown, the administration had agreed to keep the WWII Memorial open to the veterans only. However, the morning of day 4 proved that agreement to be untrue for the administration had doubled-down with more barricades wired shut.
Per a DC Park Service ranger of the harassment, “It’s a cheap way to deal with the situation. We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”
I agree. It is disgusting, as well as petty.
Adding to the hissy fit, according to the Washington Examiner:
“… overseas troops who typically look forward to watching NFL games and the baseball playoffs provided by the American Forces Network, will get little if any service due to the shutdown. A notice on the AFN page reads:
“GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN. Due to the government shutdown, the Defense Department can only provide limited overseas television, radio, print and web services.”
So let me get this straight. This administration is for wired barricades at the WWII Memorial, yet nothing at the border? It appears the petulant child needs to be sent to the corner until he can, more maturely, behave himself.
